ABOUT
My name is Mollie Catherine Blunt. I currently teach middle school in Shreveport, LA. Also, I am the accreditation coordinator at my school. Enjoy reading more about me, my research interests, and other interesting information related to my studies.

I teach middle school social studies at First Baptist Church School (FBCS). This is my second year to teach at this school. Prior to teach at FBCS, I finished the year at another private school in town following my graduation from Louisiana Tech. In addition to teaching, I sponsor the National Junior Honor Society, coach the middle school golf team, and serve on the Student of the Year committee along with other committees.
I began my Doctoral degree in June 2014 following graduation from Louisiana Tech with my Master's degree in May 2014. I have chosen the Educational Leadership concentration. My future goal is to either gain a leadership position or pursue opportunities to teach at the college level.
My research interests are centered around K-12 school settings. While working with these students, the benefits that students can gain from the educational environment are vitally important. As I begin to research for my dissertation, I plan to look at the relationship between extracurricular activities and success in the classroom. In addition, I will look at benefits from the activities beyond classroom success. These benefits may include self-growth, increased interactions with peers, and numerous opportunities for additional involvement.

Many traditions can be found at First Baptist Church School. Events take place each month that relate to the school's traditions.

Faith is the core component of all events at the school. All students take part in religion class on a daily basis.
